Andrew
Saufkie was born December 12, 1946 at Second Mesa. He is married
to wife Jennie and they have 4 sons who are Arvin, Rubin, Murphy
and Paul. Murphy and Arvin are very fine Kachina carvers. Andrew’s
father was Paul Saufkie and his mother was Ruby Saufkie. Paul was
a very famous Hopi jeweler and was instrumental in creating contemporary
style Hopi jewelry. Andrew learned from his father and has been
making Hopi overlay jewelry for over 18 years.
