DEBBIE BROWN -Acoma Potter

Debbie Brown is the third generation in a family of wonderful Acoma potters.
Her grandmother, Jessie Garcia, is remembered for keeping alive two old Acoma styles: corrugated ware and large storage jars. Debbie's mother, Sarah Garcia, was well known for her innovative forms. As a child, Debbie observed and learned from these women, and is today herself one the the finest Acoma potters.
She particularly enjoys making large jars with classic Acoma designs. She is married to Gerard Brown, son of potter Mabel Brown, and lives in Acomita with her family of six children.
