COLLEEN TALAHYTEWA -Hopi Kachina Carver

Colleen Talahytewa was born in 1968 in Moenkopi. Colleen comes from a family of fine Kachina carvers. She has been carving for many years and has become a very fine carver.
Colleen was introduced to Kachina-doll carving by her family while she was growing up. Her father is Stacy, Sr. and her mother is Louise. Stacy provided the family’s income for her 4 brothers and 7 sisters by carving and selling Kachina dolls. Colleen’s dolls are usually about 10 inches tall and are very well proportioned and very finely carved.
Colleen is married and has 2 children.
